Magen David West is a Modern Orthodox Kehilla rooted in Torah, Zionism & Derech Eretz. "Magen David" — the Shield of David — is more than one of the most recognized symbols of the Jewish people. It represents protection, responsibility, and identity. A shield exists to protect something precious, and that idea is central to who we are. This is not just a place for a minyan. It is a community built around Torah, values, and a commitment to doing what is right. The name also honors the memory of one of the founders' brother, David ז״ל, who was killed while serving as an IDF officer in Chevron. He stood as a true Magen David — protecting the ability of Jews to live, walk, and daven in one of our holiest places. "West" reflects where we are — and who we are. "ליבי במזרח ואנכי בסוף מערב" — "My heart is in the East and I am at the end of the West." Even from Las Vegas, we see ourselves as connected to Eretz Yisrael and to Klal Yisrael. We are part of that shared story and carry a sense of love, responsibility, and belonging to something far greater than ourselves.
